VIS: The Versus Information System

The Versus Information System (VIS) is the exemplary foundation on which VISion is built.

VIS uses combined patented radio-frequency and infrared technology to provide the most precise, granular location data available. Versus badges and tags emit RF and IR signals which are received by ceiling-mounted sensors. Don't worry, complex algorithms requiring tags to self-locate based on signal strength and thousands of IP addresses (one for each item you locate) are not required.

IR-RFID Badge
Small, lightweight badges provide the means to locate people (staff, patients, visitors) with VIS. Assigned to individuals or shared across shifts, VIS badges emit signals containing a unique identification code. As an individual moves within the facility, VIS identifies his or her location.

		The IR Advantage The IR signal is bound by walls or other materials such as curtains, and provides definitive location information that can be focused to 12-inch accuracy. It provides the accuracy necessary to precisely locate people and assets, even down to bed-level.

RFID RF signals are the type of energy that television and radio stations emit into the air. They provide general location information; however, for our purposes, the communication characteristics inherent in RF signals are more important. Versus uses the RF signal to identify a zonal area, to announce the call/alert message, and as a general beacon to tell VIS that a badge is active.
