Improved Patient Care with RTLS at HIMSS 2010
(Traverse City, Michigan, February 24, 2010)
– In clinical environments, an accurate real-time locating system (RTLS) can do
so much more than simply help locate equipment. For more than 20 years, Versus Technology, Inc. (Versus) has devoted its time, energy and resources to
developing and supporting RTLS applications that do everything from basic
locating to automated patient flow and advanced workflow automation.
With hundreds of happy clients, countless
integrations and an expanding partner group, Versus is pleased to showcase the
most transformational RTLS applications in existence at this year’s Health
Information Management Systems Society conference, (HIMSS). You’ll find Versus
at booth #7949, the Rauland-Borg booth (#5603) and at Microsoft®’s
booth (#6733) during exhibit hall hours, with special presentations from Ginger
Banks and Steve Willis, both of PeaceHealth, at the Product Pavilion Session on
Tuesday, March 2, from 3:15pm-4pm and at the American Hospital Association’s booth
(#6115) on Monday, March 1 from 4:30pm-5:15pm. These presentations will focus
on using the Versus system for situational awareness and improved patient flow.
Banks and Willis, will also be available at
the Versus booth to answer questions and provide a real-world view of the
Versus solution in use at four sites within PeaceHealth. This is the perfect
opportunity to capitalize on your colleagues’ experiences with Versus RTLS. If
your questions lean more to the technical side of RTLS or you have not yet been
introduced to the Advantages of accurate locating from Versus, staff will be on hand
to explain what makes Versus Advantages™ the best solution for
clinical RTLS. (Hint: it has to do with accuracy and rules-based automation.)
Show
attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about Versus’ Hand Hygiene
Compliance solution, where Versus automatically captures hand washing events and documents the “time of transaction” data. With
reports of Hand Hygiene Compliance readily available, the Versus solution
helps hospitals understand individual and unit compliance to hospital
hand-washing policies. Versus will help attendees better understand how RTLS
can help document failure points and ultimately improve compliance related to
this important patient safety issue.
With the
need to achieve “meaningful use” for future reimbursement under the HITECH Act,
Versus believes it is important to show HIMSS attendees how accurate RTLS can
help hospitals actualize Level 2 of CPOE (Computerized Provider Order Entry),
which requires documentation of “when” and “where” care takes place. This
hands-free automation feature, which maximizes efficiency and provides advanced
human-to-technology interfaces, is exactly what draws partners like Microsoft
to the Versus Advantages solution.
Microsoft® will feature a “Health with Windows 7” demo at its booth (#6733). This
demonstration was built by senior IT strategists from Microsoft’s Worldwide
Health group, Versus and fellow Microsoft partner, iLink. Watch as a patient progresses
from admission through the patient/physician interaction and discharge on the
Windows 7® platform. You will see how Versus’ RTLS and the use of
Windows 7 features considerably enhances the experience of the patients and
staff as they move through the clinic and interact with the clinical
applications and systems.
Show
attendees will have an additional opportunity to observe Versus automation in
action at the Rauland-Borg booth (#5603), where the Versus solution will be
used to demonstrate automated call cancellation with Rauland’s Responder 5
Nurse Call.
