Press Release
Versus Technology, Inc.
Announces Spring ’09 Release for Added Workflow Automation
(Traverse City, Michigan, May 28, 2009) – Maybe it’s the
economy, maybe it’s government initiatives like the HITECH Act, maybe it’s that
age-old adage that “there’s always room for improvement”—whatever it is: the
healthcare industry is eager for solutions to enhance safety, improve patient
flow and perfect communication. Versus Technology, Inc. is the only real-time
location information system (RTLS) company meeting these needs.
Versus is focused on helping hospitals and clinics be safer and
more efficient, while making the most of existing resources. It is Versus’ core
competency, allowing them to continue delivering the very best Automated
Workflow Solutions to the healthcare industry. The Versus Spring ’09 Release,
featuring enhanced real-time interfaces and reporting mechanisms, is an
extension of this commitment.
A recent University of Maryland study found that hospitals could
save an average of $4 million annually just by making communication more
effective. This includes eliminating unnecessary wait time and knowing the
real-time location of patients, staff and assets. To that end, Versus’ clients
are already moving in the right direction, making the most of their time and
resources. To further maximize their investments, Versus clients will also appreciate
the enhanced automated reporting features of Reports Plus™.
The new Reports Plus workflow feature allows single or multiple
users to automatically receive the same reports via email at regularly
scheduled intervals (i.e., daily, weekly, monthly). These reports are available
in a variety of file formats such as MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat. The automated
reporting functionality allows staff to easily determine any captured parameter
without having to request the report. Automated report examples include average
bed turnover time during a particular shift, the number of patients who waited
more than 30 minutes for discharge during the week or the number of EKGs
performed in the emergency department (ED) in the last month.
Another method to increase efficiency for clients is to
eliminate duplicated effort. With the Spring ’09 Release, Versus is providing
real-time integration to Microsoft® Active Directory. This allows
password/security administrators to control logins for all applications from a
single point and eliminates the need to maintain login information in two
separate databases, which often leads to errors when a change is made in one
application, but not the other. By controlling all login information from a
single system, the administrator will only need to issue login/password
instructions for one system, rather than two—which removes a great deal of
confusion for end users each time there is an update.
The Spring ’09 Release is significant to Versus’ commitment to
enterprise solutions. “With the Spring ’09 release, we’ve not only given
customers tools to enhance efficiency, we’ve strengthened our enterprise
platform and made it easier to streamline enterprise implementations,” explains
Chief Technology Officer, HT Snowday. “This upgrade helps solidify Versus in
the Healthcare IT environment.”
Current clients and industry recognition, especially over the
last year, have spurred remarkable interest in Versus’ Clinical Workflow
Solutions. Versus’ clients are expanding the Versus Solution, sharing their
successes with colleagues and gaining prominence with Best Practice awards like
the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Pursuit of Excellence. Likewise, Versus, has been recognized by
Frost & Sullivan for a 3rd time as the Market Leader for Healthcare
RTLS and by GLIMANorthwest as a Top
12 Technology company. Versus is also exclusively endorsed by the AHA for its
IR-RFID Patient Flow Solution. For more information on Versus, automating
