VUE17: Sun, Surf and Intracoastal Connections

In May we held our fourth annual Versus User Experience (VUE) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Versus users from all corners of the U.S. (and in between) came for two days of networking, sharing Versus stories and learning how other health systems are implementing Versus to improve workflow and the patient experience.

The VUE opened with a pre-conference facility tour at Memorial Hospital Miramar, this year’s host. Sharon Boothe, Jay Chua, and Terry Niepokny, our gracious tour guides, showed attendees the multiple ways that Memorial uses Versus every day for process improvement.

Michael O’Neil, Founder and CEO of GetWellNetwork, gave an empowering keynote to kick off VUE17.

Michael O’Neil, Founder and CEO of GetWellNetwork, delivered a powerful keynote speech that kicked off the VUE education sessions. Michael was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at age 28. During his session, he shared how his patient journey inspired him to impact the patient experience at by founding GetWellNetwork.

The remaining conference sessions were equally as engaging and insightful. Coming from both Versus users and teammates, they covered a wide variety of topics. In our post-conference survey, attendees voted for their favorite sessions — congratulations to these presenters:

  • Rodney Haas (University of Minnesota Physicians: “Diving into Data for Process Improvement”
  • Tim Kilmer (Billings Clinic), Sharon Boothe (Memorial Healthcare System), Brent Wheeler (McLaren Flint): “Panel: Managing Assets with Versus”
  • Kevin Jackson (Versus), “Versus Roadmap”
  • Cheryl Becker (Aurora Healthcare) “Eliminating the Waiting Room”
  • Lyndsy Marcoux (Versus), “Intro to Reports Plus™ Analytics”

On the last evening, we celebrated with a customer appreciation dinner cruise up and down the Intracoastal Waterway – it was a great time to be had by all!

Cruising on the Intracoastal Waterway!

The conference closed with recognition of Memorial Hospital Miramar as our host, and of Broward Children’s Hospital, who was honored for the longest operating RTLS deployment (live since 1995!). It was special to have them at VUE17, as they have both been part of the Versus family for more than a decade.

Richard Markoff (of Broward Children’s Hospital) accepted the award for longest operating RTLS deployment.
